Leeds United youngster Kalvin Phillips is eager to impress under new manager Garry Monk.
The 20-year-old, who recently signed a new three-year contract with the Championship side, attributed his decision to commit to the Elland Road cause to Monk's arrival at the club.
"I've heard a lot of good things about him and that he's good with young players," he said.
"He's obviously a good manager who has managed at the highest level.
"I'm buzzing [about the new contract]. It's a great achievement for me and my family.
"I'm just happy that the gaffer's got trust and belief in me."
"I want to do better than last season and get more game time. I want to be playing consistently and perform well when I get the chance.
"I'll be working as hard as I can to get that opportunity."
The midfielder made just seven appearances under former boss Steve Evans.
