Kalvin Phillips admits Man City selection pressure intense

Kalvin Phillips says he expects to stay with Manchester City next season.

The England midfielder is about to complete his first season with City.

He told BBC Sport: "I came here to win titles and play football. I haven't done that as much as I would have liked this season. I will try to come back to the pre-season in as good shape as possible, and hopefully I can be like Rodri and (Ilkay) Gündogan who are very important to the team and basically impossible to push out.

"I was one of the most important players there (at Leeds United) and during the first training sessions here I mostly thought: 'What am I doing here?' My acclimatisation period took more time than usual due to the injuries.

"At the same time, we have young players who are breathing down my back. I look forward to being here for another five good years."
