Kaboul still has Europa League hopes for Tottenham

Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul is remaining confident of his club's Europa League hopes.

Spurs lost 3-1 to Benfica in the Round of 16 first leg on Thursday night, putting them in a vulnerable position for the return bout in Portugal next week.

Rodrigo opened the scoring for the Eagles before a brace from Luisao, either side of Christian Eriksen's sublime free-kick, condemned the north Londoners to a fairly heavy defeat on home soil.

However, French centre-back Kaboul is not losing sight of the fact that there is still a second leg to be played which certainly has Tottenham in with a realistic chance.

"Everything is possible in football," Kaboul said. "We will go there to win and see what happens.

"When we scored our goal we thought it gave us a bit of a push but we let one in straight away and then it was too late.

"We have to go for it next week."
