Ronaldo spoke openly about his rivalry with Lionel Messi, revealing a great degree of respect for the Argentine.
"I have no doubt that Messi has made me a better player and vice versa," Ronaldo told TV1.
"When he sees me winning trophies it must hurt him, as it hurts me when he does the same.
"I really admire the career he has had and, on his part, he has already spoken about his disappointment about me leaving Spain because he appreciated the rivalry," Ronaldo stated.
The Portuguese spoke of other great sporting duels, and even stated that he'd be open to joining Messi for dinner one day.
"It's a good rivalry, but it's not unique. Michael Jordan had them in basketball, Ayrton Senna and [Alain]Prost in Formula 1.
"What they all had in common is that they were healthy rivalries.
"I have an excellent professional relationship with Messi because we have been sharing similar moments for 15 years," Cristiano stated.
"We have never had dinner together, but I don't see why we couldn't in the future."
