Juventus midfielder Douglas Costa has apologised for his spitting incident.

Costa was given a four game ban for the incident in September, and wasn't called for his national team.

“I spoke face-to-face with the Coach," Douglas Costa explained from the Brazil camp.

“He told me what he thought, I respect him a lot and I apologised. It was a bad incident, it wasn't like me and it was something that had never happened before in my career.

“Now I just want to put it behind me and keep working."
