UEFA president Michel Platini admits he would never have played in Italy if he was a footballer today.
The 55-year-old French legend was one of Serie A's biggest names in the 1980s when he played for Juventus.
Platini said: "I don't know if in this particular moment in time I would have found space in the Italian championship.
"Now there are many youngsters. I arrived here at 27. I was already an established player and I had difficulties in the beginning.
"But then thanks to my experience I managed to impose myself and win in a difficult League like the one in Italy.
"Now no one would ever gamble on a player of my age. I perhaps wouldn't even be playing."
