Juventus hero Claudio Marchisio has questioned whether Romelu Lukaku will recover from Belgium's World Cup elimination.

He missed at least three big chances in the 0-0 draw with Croatia, which saw Belgium eliminated and Lukaku break down in tears.

“Physically, he is on the downward trend in his career, while mentally some games stay with you," former Juventus and Italy midfielder Marchisio said on RAI Sport.

“He had many chances and didn't take them, so inevitably a team will pay for that."

Lukaku is on-loan at Inter from Chelsea and will return to the Nerazzurri now after a short break.
