Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny insists they deserved to win the Supercoppa against AC Milan.

The Pole made the first save of the game just before half-time when his gloves were stung by Turkey international Hakan Calhanoglu, but Cristiano Ronaldo's glancing header proved decisive.

“I think he was offside anyway, but it kept me warmed up, because otherwise in the first half I only ever got to play the ball to feet," Szczesny told JTV.

“That save helped me stay wide awake. Then we dominated Milan and deservedly won the Supercoppa. We've started 2019 on the right foot, winning in the Coppa Italia and taking our first trophy of the season. Hopefully it won't be our last."
