Juventus GM Marotta updates fans on Darmian, Carrasco deals

Juventus director Beppe Marotta has played down a move for Manchester United fullback Matteo Darmian.

Marotta also spoke of talk over a move for Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco.

He said, “Carrasco is a rather creative idea that we never discussed. Darmian is not someone we need right now and it's a little premature to talk about June. We are concentrated on the present and I don't think anyone will arrive in January."

Juventus were certainly in advanced negotiations with Genoa for Pietro Pellegri, but today the 16-year-old sensation completed his transfer to Monaco for around €25m.

“We had a verbal and moral agreement with Pellegri, but faced with a unique step up in the offer from Monaco, we stepped aside. There are regrets to see an Italian talent leave the country."
