Juventus GM Beppe Marotta admits they came close to signing Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao last year. Falcao is on-loan from AS Monaco.

Marotta said: "He was incredibly close to us at one point. Now things have changed, it's a different scenario.

"Falcao is a top player, of course he has a high market value, as well as a substantial salary. He's a good player.

"Today it would be premature to discuss how our team will be set up in the future, but we're evaluating many opportunities."
