Juventus coach Allegri relieved to overcome stubborn Palermo

Juventus coach Max Allegri was relieved to overcome Palermo on Saturday.

A deflected Dani Alves shot was the decisive moment of the 1-0 win.

“I told the lads we had two objectives today – to win the game and not concede. Obviously we need to improve, as we made too many mistakes on a technical level with misplaced passes, but we take the three points after a tough run of games," Allegri told Sky Sport Italia.

“It was not easy to come here and win at Palermo, as they picked up four points from the last two games. In the end we were left with 10 men and suffered, but I like that we still took home the result.

“It was the first time really for the two strikers together and they didn't combine, but then that is not in their characteristics. They did well to sacrifice themselves and help out in defence. In my view, they played well. Considering what I asked of them, they did well and we created some chances thanks to them."
