Juventus sporting director Federico Cherubini says Moise Kean was signed not to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
Kean arrived in the final days of the summer market on a two-season loan from Everton after Ronaldo had been sold to Manchester United.
“When Cristiano told us he wanted to leave, we immediately thought of anticipating the future," Cherubini told Tuttosport.
“Kean is not the replacement of the Portuguese striker, but one of the pawns in a plan to continue winning with a different project."
Kean struck twice for Italy this week in their World Cup qualifying victory over Lithuania.
