Juventus captain Chiellini admits management on agenda

Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini admits management is a goal once his playing days are over.

Chiellini spoke with Sky Italia as part of the launch of his autobiography.

“I would like a managerial path, I don't know where it will take me because I don't know my qualities, but I see myself there more than as a coach.

“Football is my life, a passion and it will always be part of my life. Now I enjoy the last few years, I don't know if it will be one or two years, but I still have something to give on the pitch.

“Over the years I have learned to be more lucid, I have improved in my head and a little in my feet too.

“When I started my career at Juve, Capello didn't give you anything and the minutes with him at Juve were earned. In one of the first friendlies he asked me what my role was, I told him full back. He: 'No, defender! The defender first defends, learn that first.'

“The BBC? Such empathy was created that we raised the bar, plus we had Gigi Buffon behind us. Barzagli is the most 'curmudgeon' of all, but when he opened his mouth he made us laugh and everyone listened to him. An exceptional professional, perhaps he was even underestimated."
