Juventus boss Allegri plays down Vidal bust-up

Juventus coach Max Allegri has played down a touchline strop from Arturo Vidal during victory over Chievo Verona.

Vidal was visibly irritated at being substituted in the second half.

"I substituted Vidal because he was on a yellow card and he can get a bit too generous, so goes overboard sometimes and risks a second booking. Marchisio is more level-headed, so I left him on.

"We had a mediocre first half due to Chievo's constant pressing, but still had three or four chances to take the lead.

"The team increased its intensity after the break, Chievo fell away and after Pogba's goal it all became easier.

"Chievo only threatened at the very end when they hit the upright, which was because we had fallen asleep. At the end of the day it was a deserved victory."
