Manchester United had a fee agreed with Juventus for Mario Mandzukic last month, it has been revealed.
Mandzukic, 33, emerged as a transfer target for the Red Devils late in the summer transfer window after it became clear Romelu Lukaku would leave the club.
“They could have signed Mario Mandzukic at the end of the window," ESPN's Mark Ogden said.
“A deal was agreed with Juventus, it would have cost I think around £14million.
“That for me would have been a no-brainer because yes he's not the future but he's a guy that ticks that box of being an experienced pro."
