Jurgen Locadia recognises he owes Brighton after they spent so much money on him a year ago.
By his own admission, the Dutch striker has had to battle over the past 12 months to establish himself with the Seagulls.
He recalled to Ziggo Sport: "They pay a lot of money for you, of course. You want to show your qualities and if that is only possible in training, that is not enough for me.
"I do not know if you should get angry at the club or the trainer. At PSV I played thirty matches in my first season. Then came Luuk de Jong. I got angry at PSV, stayed home once and did not show up during a training session. Now I am doing the same, only I have learned from what I did at PSV."
Locadia added: "My dream is succeeding at Brighton. So play a whole season, make goals and maybe make a nice step."
