Juan Mata admits he's yet to hear from Valencia about a new contract.

The midfielder has pledged his future to Los Che, but is yet to hear from the club about a deserved improved deal.

"Since a couple of seasons ago, the club gave me promise to improve my contract," Mata told Marca.

"I did not ask for anything, being aware of the difficult situation of the club, but the offer to renew has not arrived."
