The former Real Betis coach is set to be named new assistant manager of Manchester City.

Sport says Lillo is in Manchester ahead of being appointed Pep Guardiola's new No2.

Lillo will be appointed as Mikel Arteta's successor in the coming days with an official announcement the only stage waiting to be confirmed.

The Spaniard terminated his contract with Quingdao Huanghai last week.

The pair have known eachother since 1997, with Guardiola a long time fan of Lillo's coaching.
