Liverpool attacker Milan Jovanovic says moving to Anfield was the right decision.
The 29-year-old is convinced he has found the right setting for his combative qualities after once rejecting overtures from Real Madrid.
"Ninety-nine per cent of the people I speak to about the Real business say they cannot understand how I could possibly turn them down," he said. "But I felt I would be seen as an ordinary player who might not get in the team whereas in Belgium, I was a star.
"Real offered me a deal for one year with an option for two. I asked for four, they said no, so I said no to them. Maybe they are the biggest club in the world but I was always confident other big clubs would come in for me.
"They don't come much bigger or more famous than Liverpool, and I couldn't be happier. A few people said the Premier League is very demanding physically, but I just thought to myself, "Yeah, that's me. That's what I want". I couldn't have asked for more from the other players in making me feel welcome. They've been so kind and I feel very close to this group already."
