Jordan Henderson says Sunday's win over Chelsea epitomised Liverpool's character.
Frank Lampard's side brought the scores back to 2-1 thanks to a cracking second-half goal from N'Golo Kante.
But the Reds held onto for all three points and captain Henderson was delighted with the resilience shown by his teammates.
He said: "Chelsea was a really tough place to come, good team, we had to grind it out, had to give everything and that shows what we're about as a team.
"It's important, you need character and we've got plenty of characters in this team to fight and see games out.
"It was tough, they put a lot of pressure on us and we just need to keep winning, keep getting three points."
