Jonjoe Kenny accepts he needs to fight to win a place in the current Everton XI.

It was suggested that Southampton and West Ham were showing an interest in Kenny during the transfer window, but the former England youth international insists he was not told of anything concrete.

"Nothing that I know of," he said.

"I enjoyed the spell out on loan with Schalke and came back here and wanted to get my head down and just work as hard as I could to try and perform to the best of my ability."

On his relationship with Seamus Coleman, Kenny added: "When I've played he's really helped me out and, hopefully, vice versa when he does. We do have talks, we speak to each other on how the game is going. In that department it's just whoever plays, plays and the relationship has been great."
