Fulham boss Martin Jol admits online forums played a role in his decision to accept the job.
The Sunday Telegraph says before joining Fulham last week, Jol did due diligence on the club, including assessing fans' reaction to the possibility of his arrival and their hopes for the season.
"I had a good look at the forums,'' reflected Jol, "and the fans expect us to do well but they don't expect us to be in the Champions League.''
Fulham fans are known to be amongst the more level-headed terrace inhabitants but Jol clearly felt it wise to check.
