Jokanovic turns down approach from Stoke

Former Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic has turned down an approach from Stoke City.

The Mirror says Stoke have ruled out Jokanovic, after the former Fulham boss told them he does not want to be considered for their vacant manager's job.

Some Potters fans championed Jokanovic to succeed Gary Rowett, who was sacked on Tuesday morning, because of the Serb's proven track record in the Championship.

The 50-year-old won promotion to the Premier League as Watford boss in 2015 and repeated the feat with Fulham last season by winning the Championship's play-off final.

Jokanovic is keen to return to work and is available immediately, because his severance from Fulham following his mid-November sacking by the Premier League strugglers has been resolved.
