Burnley's Swedish prospect Joel Mumbongo is delighted with his first 18 months with the Clarets.

The story goes after his release by Hellas Verona, the wife of Burnley's academy discovered Mumbongo on LinkedIn.

"I actually have no idea about the process itself and how they found me. I just remember that I was at home in Sweden, training and was with the family. And then I got a call that I would go there," Mumbongo told Expressen.

"It was a very difficult situation right then. I was in the middle of a recovery so when I got the call it was a bit 50/50, either it works or it does not work. But the gain was greater than the loss so I took the chance and it turned out well in the end."

Mumbongo's contract expires at the end of the season; the future is still uncertain but he is happy at Burnley.

"I feel great here. It is a club that takes care of me and it is a very good environment where it is easy to feel welcome. When you are in a club where you feel so good, it is clear that it makes it easier, when you can be yourself and are happy at work," adds Mumbongo.
