Joe Cole content with any role in England team

England midfielder Joe Cole admits he is happy in any role with the national team, saying it is in his nature to do what the coach asks.

The former Chelsea man is content with a bit-part role for his nation as long as it is for the good of the team despite calls that he should be in the starting line-up.

"It is a squad game," he said.

"If the manager wants me for one minute I will be there. If he wants me for 90 minutes I will be there. That is just my nature.

"I appreciate what people are saying back home but the guys that played were exceptional."

Cole also said that the England team is still capable of taking out the title despite a slow start to the tournament.

"The English people deserve to have a team they can be proud of," he added.

"I still believe we can win this competition. We want to do it for everyone back home.

"If we all stick together we can go as far as we want in this tournament. I just believe it is our turn."
