Joaquin has signed a new contract with Real Betis.
The veteran attacker has penned a new 12 month deal, which will see him reach the age of 40 still in action for Betis.
Joaquin always insisted he would be happy to play on next term if he felt important to the team and he has been convinced by coach Manuel Pellegrini about his role next season.
The former Valencia star will turn 40 this summer.
Pellegrini stated towards the end of the season: "He will surely renew in these days. He still has a lot to give and I like him. Sometimes I have many discussions with him because he wants to play all the games. But our obligation is to see how to manage him. He is a great help within Betis."
