Inter Milan midfielder Joao Mario has denied claims he rejected a move to Chelsea on Thursday.

It's been suggested Chelsea made an attempt for Mario - only to be turned down as the midfielder didn't want to work with Maurizio Sarri.

It was suggested Mario didn't want to play for an Italian manager.

However, the midfielder tweeted – in Italian: “Is there anyone who believes this is true? Imagination yes, but this is too much…"

Mario spent the second-half of last season on-loan with West Ham.
