Manchester City star Joao Cancelo would love to team up with Lionel Messi this season.

The Citizens are attempting to sign Messi from Barcelona, but the potential move is marred by legal concerns.

Cancelo believes Messi would be a great fit as City chase the Premier League and Champions League titles.

"He's a great player, I won't say that he's not," Cancelo told RTP.

"In a team like Manchester City, of course, also with great players on his side, he'd have a great season."
