Paul Jewell is being linked with a return to Wigan Athletic.

The Sun says Latics boss Roberto Martinez will have the shadow of Paul Jewell hanging over him at Hartlepool tonight.

Jewell, who took the Latics into the Premier League in 2005, is being linked with a return as manager or director of football.

Martinez has seen his side thrashed 4-0 and 6-0 by Blackpool and Chelsea.

And he cannot afford another shocker in the Carling Cup second round against League One side Pools.

Jewell, who quit Derby in December 2008, was at the Chelsea rout working as a TV pundit.
