Paul Jewell has emerged as favourite for the vacant manager's job at Derby County.

The Daily Mail says he was one of the first to be interviewed for the post in the wake of Billy Davies's departure from Pride Park on Monday.

Jewell, who has been out of work since leaving the JJB Stadium in May, has been linked with a host of opportunities, but seems keen to at least talk to the Rams' chairman.
