Derby County boss Paul Jewell accepts he could be out of a job by the end of the year.
"I'm not saying I fear the sack but if things have not improved dramatically by December, I would understand it," said Jewell.
"A guy at a fans' forum said to me that four points from 17 games is sack form - and it is. But when I came here I knew it was going to be a long-term plan and that relegation was almost inevitable.
"Not many managers can start out with six points from 14 games and expect to turn things around with a magic wand."
