Jermaine Pennant has been a victim of a robbery at new club Bury.
The Sun says the journeyman winger — once of Liverpool and Arsenal — was handed money by a teammate and put it in his locker at the club's Carrington training base.
But the money disappeared, sparking a dressing room revolt to find the “rat" who has taken the cash.
A source said: “The players think they know who has taken the money and have challenged him directly but he's denying it, so it's a difficult situation for the management to deal with.
“You don't steal from a dressing room. How can you build team spirit when one of your own is a thief?"
Former Arsenal, Liverpool and Stoke star Pennant, 34, has signed for Bury after returning from a spell playing in the Singaporean league.
