Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson has not given up on his Arsenal career.

Despite being with the first team for many years, 26-year-old Jenkinson has failed to earn a regular spot with the Gunners.

He last played in the Premier League for the club in November 2016, before coming on in last night's win against Cardiff.

Now he wants to be permanent fixture in the first team.

"I've got to push on," said Jenkinson to reporters after the game.

"I've got to keep working. That's what I do best. I'm pushing and I'm pushing.

"We've got top lads in the squad and whoever plays is going to do a job, but for personal pride of course I want to be in the team.

"I'm training as hard as I can to give the manager a problem and get myself in the team."
