Jem Karacan hopes to stay with Reading.

The midfielder has a year to run on his current deal.

"I have one-year left on my contract but I believe that will take care of itself," he told the Reading Post.

"There has been some discussions with the club about extending my contract but for me the real focus is to get fit first.

"I have been with the club for eight years now and I want to play in the Premier League.

"Hopefully I can earn myself a new contract."
