Javi Gracia 'very happy' to take charge of Valencia

Javi Gracia is delighted to have been named new coach of Valencia.

The former Watford manager succeeds Albert Celades after his sacking towards the end of the LaLiga season.

Gracia said, "I am very happy to be in this great club, in this beautiful city and wanting to start working now. We are experiencing a difficult period for all people, where health and wellness is the most important thing, but logically we as professionals think about football and we want it to also serve with our work to make people feel better.

"Personally, I am very proud to train a club like Valencia CF."

He continued: "The talent that exists in the squad is vital, it is not so decisive to see how old the player is. If there are young and good players, logically they will have their place.

"It's about continuing to consolidate these young people, giving the space to those who have the most ability and experience and continuing to give way to all those young people who are so well prepared."
