Javi Garcia is ready to fill the void at Manchester City left by Yaya Toure.
The summer arrival from Benfica admits he has not found it easy settling into a new club and new country but hopes a regular run of games will help him.
He told The Sun: "With Yaya gone for a few weeks it might be a good opportunity to show the manager what I can do. I played quite a few games alongside Yaya.
"But with him being away it could be the chance to prove myself and force the manager to give me a more regular place in the side. I'd like to make a place my own in the starting XI.
"The match at Arsenal was probably my best game so far for City but I know I still need to improve my form. I've only been here five months and that will come."
