Jaume Roures angry over Barcelona online PR scandal

Jaume Roures has weighed into Barcelona's online PR scandal.

The Catalan businessman was one such individual who was targeted by a number of accounts, along with Lionel Messi, Victor Font, Xavi Hernandez and Pep Guardiola.

"As a Barcelona member, I'm a little embarrassed that the Barcelona board can do these things, I know for sure that they are behind the accounts, and we plan to ask for criminal charges," Roures explained in an interview with RAC 1.

"I thought these acts were left for the sewers, not at a club like Barcelona, it's hard to believe they would spend the money of members to dirty people both near and far.

"I've seen the documentation that supported this information, not only have they insulted people and manipulated opinions, but this is blatant misuse of the club's money, a million euros is not a small amount."

Whilst president Josep Maria Bartomeu has publicly suggested the club will defend itself as much as possible, Roures believes that widespread legal action against the club is inevitable.

"Obviously, we will take legal action, there are many people who should react to this story," Roures added.

"I want to clarify that suggestions we made a donation to Messi and his foundation are wrong, period.

"This board has spread lies about everyone indiscriminately."

When pressed on the expenditure of one million euros to essentially defame club legends, Roures posed the point that this may merely be the tip of the iceberg.

"It's evident that this administration is unfairly using money that doesn't belong to them," Roures confirmed.

"Nobody knows what Barcelona's debt is and there is no control of the club's finances.

"If this has been discovered after a couple of years, what else is there that we don't know about?"
