Japanese streaming partner for Man City

Manchester City have become the first individual soccer club to team up with DAZN, announcing the sports streaming subscription service as their new official partner in Japan, reports www.sportspromedia.com/.

Under the terms of the deal, DAZN will serve as the exclusive live host broadcaster for the English giants' first ever game in the country against City Football Group (CFG) sister club Yokohama F Marinos on 27th July.

The game will be broadcast using 14 cameras at Yokohama's Nissan Stadium, with additional cameras to be installed on the goal net and bench to provide viewers with unique perspectives of the action.

In addition, the two parties will work together on fan engagement activities and measures to be rolled out during City's tour and the match itself.

DAZN also used the partnership announcement to reveal that it has secured exclusive Premier League rights in Japan for the next three seasons from 2019/20.

Damian Willoughby, senior vice president of partnerships at CFG, said: "DAZN have been a significant factor in revolutionising football in Japan and are therefore the perfect partner to bring fans of the game closer to Manchester City during our time in market, especially with DAZN becoming the home of all EPL football in Japan for our 19/20 title defence."
