Watford defender Daryl Janmaat admits Feyenoord tried to sign him this summer.

However, the Dutchman says he was disappointed with the manner of their offer.

He told AD: "If it stops there, it is difficult to talk further. Feyenoord also did not have the money. You cannot approach Watford with nothing. They are not stupid.

"So I did not even have to think about it."

However, Janmaat admits a return to Feyenoord is in his thoughts.

"So I can get in there and help the club. I am only 29, so I have a little time. In any case, we know each other."
