Jamal Lewis calls for unity at Newcastle

Jamal Lewis has called for unity at Newcastle United.

After a week in which a training ground row and the fallout of manager Steve Bruce's post-game comments against Wolves resulted in headline news in national newspapers, Lewis admits it is a life he will have to get used to at St James' Park.

Lewis, speaking to Talksport, said: "Looking from the outside and the inside are two completely different things.

"It's a big club and it gets a lot of exposure.

"It is always going to be in the limelight in some way or the other.

"This season we got off to a good start but we are kind of having a sticky patch.

"We know that fans and people around the club aren't going to be happy with that.

"It's down to us and everybody involved pushing in the right direction now.

"Which is what I think we are doing now.

"We're putting performances together, even if it might be 45 minutes here or 60 or 70 minutes, but we firmly believe in the next two months we will put the performances together and aren't looking behind us.

"Hopefully we can set up for next season and keep pushing in the right direction."
