Eldin Jakupovic is delighted with his new two-year deal at Hull City.
The 29-year-old made his Premier League debut in the 3-1 loss to Manchester United in the final weeks of last season on the back of a successful loan spell with League OneLeyton Orient.
Patience will be necessary in the new campaign but Jakupovic told the Hull Daily Mail: "I spoke with the manager before the cup final and he told me he would like me to stay. I am thankful for the opportunity and I will continue to give my best.
"I know Allan McGregor is the number one here, but myself and Steve Harper want to fight for a place. We are all good friends and we keep pushing each other on.
"It's a case of waiting for my chance and when it comes I must try to take it."
