Jake Clarke-Salter exclusive: QPR will improve; Man Utd fullback Laird impressive

QPR defender Jake Clarke-Salter is confident of major improvement in the second-half of the season.

The former Chelsea centre-half signed for the R's in the summer and has been part of a newly formed back four so far this term.

Coupled with a change of manager, which saw Michael Beale leave for Rangers and replaced by Neil Critchley, Clarke-Salter insists things will improve at Loftus Road as the team is allowed to bed down.

On behalf of CopyBet, Clarke-Salter told Tribalfootball.com: "I think there's quite a few new players, including myself, that's come to the club. It's still a new team, we've had quite a few injuries as well which has been disrupting to the team, so there's so much improvement to be done which is the exciting part obviously.

"We just all need to stick together, keep working hard and just see where it takes us."

Playing alongside Clark-Salter at the back for QPR this season has been on-loan Manchester United defender Ethan Laird.

Clarke-Salter says of the fullback: "Yeah he's been very good since he's come in.

"Obviously he's still a young player as well learning the game, but yeah I'm very impressed with him. He's a very bubbly character as well which is nice to have around the group so yeah I can only praise him."
