Radhi Jaidi is disappointed to be leaving Birmingham City.
The defender told the Birmingham Mail: "I had a quick chat with the manager the day after we won promotion and he explained that the club couldn't pay me the money for the next year.
"I asked him to speak to the board to see if we could talk and he told me that the least they could do was offer me less money.
"So I then asked whether or not it was likely that they would renew my contract because I needed to know for my future, and after a couple of days he called me to say he had to make changes to the team and that they didn't have a new contract for me.
"I said that's okay and thank you very much.
"Maybe I am a little disappointed but I think this is probably better for me.
"I won't say I'm sad or it's good; many things can happen in football and experience tells me not to be surprised."
