New Everton signing Phil Jagielka is using the squad's training camp in Italy to settle quickly at his new club.

"Yes, I had a couple of days in Scotland last week to bed myself in and now we're over here, the weather is fantastic and everything is brilliant," he told evertonfc.com.

"It's great because I've got five days solid to have a bit of banter with the boys! I knew a couple of them beforehand and everyone else has been fantastic."

As he adjusts to life at Everton, Jags reflected on pre-seasons gone by and declared that Neil Warnock did things differently but that the end result is the same...it's always tough!

"Things are bit different," he said. "We had the same gaffer for a while at Sheffield United and we did the same things year-in, year out. We do things slightly different here now and it's interesting."
