North American Soccer League (NASL) expansion team Jacksonville Armada FC have signed a trio of deals ahead of their debut in the league next year, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. Jacksonville-headquarted supermarket retailer Winn-Dixie will be the front-of-shirt sponsor for the new team, which will play its home NASL games at the 11,000-capacity Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville in Downtown Jacksonville.
Nike will act as the team's shirt sponsor and supplier, while Florida car dealership Key Auto Company will have a logo on the right sleeve of the team's playing jerseys.
"Most people know the soccer uniforms by the jersey sponsor more so than the team's crest on the jersey. So to have a great, local Jacksonville-based brand on our jersey is huge. We couldn't be more thrilled with that," said team owner Mark Frisch.
