Former Manchester City and Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell has signed with Western Sydney Wanderers.

Rodwell, 30, joins Western Sydney after an extended trial.

"Rodwell joins Wanderers on a season-long deal after spending the last two weeks in training with the Red and Blacks," the A-League club confirmed.

Rodwell says he's delighted with the move.

"This change is really exciting for me, I have been looking at the possibility of playing in Australia for a few months, and with my wife, who is from western Sydney, Wanderers was the perfect destination."
