Jack Collison returns to West Ham as U16 coach

Jack Collison has returned to West Ham.

West Ham have announced Collison is their new Under-16s manager.

The 28-year-old spent seven years at the club before leaving in 2014 and eventually called time on a playing career in 2016 due to ongoing injury problems.

Collison has spent a spell as Peterbrough United's reserve team coach and now returns to the Hammers to take up a role with the Academy.

"It feels fantastic," he told West Ham TV. “Obviously I have many great memories with the club and I've been through an awful lot, some good times and some bad times.

"I came through as a kid into the reserves and obviously made my mark on the first team so to come back in a coaching capacity is really exciting and I just can't wait to get going now.

"I spoke to Terry [Westley] before a couple of times and the opportunity to come home came up for me. Having spoke to Nobes and spoke to Terry as well, seeing his passion and the plan they have here and to have the opportunity to get back home and help some of these young lads to try and help them on their journeys was really exciting."
