Arsenal winger Ryo Miyaichi is being linked with a return to Japan.
The winger is currently on-loan at FC Twente, where he has struggled for form this season.
Japanese sources say Arsenal intend to cancel Miyaichi's loan in January and allow him to sign for a J-League club.
Miyaichi would move home in a loan deal with the view to signing permanently as his contract expires in June.
Arsenal snapped up Miyaichi as a schoolboy and the winger has no experience of J-League football.
