Ivanovic confident Chelsea ace Costa will quickly recoil

Branislav Ivanovic is supremely confident that Diego Costa will recover swiftly from the weekend's omission.

The Spanish striker was an unused sub as Chelsea drew 0-0 with Tottenham in White Hart Lane and showed his disapproval by hurling his bib towards Jose Mourinho after being told he would not be making his way onto the pitch.

Ivanovic is aware Costa will be hurting from being dropped but insists that the club is bigger than the player and believes his colleague will soon be back at his best for the good of the reigning premiers.

"I expect Diego to come back strongly. We start the season as a team and we have to finish as a team," said Ivanovic.

"Sometimes for a player who isn't playing it's difficult but it is a normal situation for the club.

"This is important. When we start losing we all know it's not about the one or two players playing badly or playing well - it's about the team.

"Diego didn't play against Tottenham but he'll be ready for the next game. He scored against Norwich - the winning goal. It's all about the team. We all have to think about that."
