Ivanauskas cuts all ties with Hearts owner Romanov

Former Hearts coach Valdas Ivanauskas has severed all ties with club owner Vladimir Romanov.

Ivanauskas worked closely with Hearts and Romanov's Lithuanian club, FBK Kaunas, over the summer, organising training bases in Austria and Germany for both teams.

However, he believes now is the time to move away from the Romanov stable.

"I'm a free man now. I don't work for Mr Romanov so I am free," the 41-year-old told the Edinburgh Evening News. "I think I will be working in another country soon.

"I have interest from other clubs to be either manager or director of football. I would do both because they both interest me. I want to get back into football as soon as possible and I'm waiting for the right team.

"I have experienced being a manager and I think I could cope with either job. I must decide where is best for me."

Asked if he has received notes of interest from clubs in Russia or Germany, Ivanauskas would only say: "It is somewhere in Europe. Russia and Germany are both in Europe."
